The Dream of See
sooo, its been a while since ive properly been engaged with the scary world of the internet, and i doubt anyone will be reading this but i will put my stamp here, break the silence and get the ghosts you echo music ball rolling again
as some of you may know its been a crazy past few months for me, i had recently wrapped up doing original music for a film called “The Liability”, starring Tim Roth, rising actor Jack O’Connell, the legend that is Peter Mullan (trainspotting YES), Tallulah Riley and among others
boom - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2081437/fullcredits#cast
it is directed by the awesome Craig Viveiros, who is an amazing director in his own right and was a real pleasure to work with, he’s been very supportive of my style of music and what i’ve done with The Liability, i hope i can work with him again in the near future, thank you Craig for your support!
when i started doing the music for this film, i was FUCKING TERRIFIED, i mean who knows what to do when you do music for a proper film that will have an official release, you jus only hope you dont record yourself swearing and crying for all the world to hear…
thankfully i didnt!, the film team i worked with love the music i did and craig is happy with it, so that’s all i wanted on the outcome really and now i feel super confident about my future in music, my skills & capabilities as a musician/producer & music artist
it was also a real treat to do because i forced myself to have a sabbatical from the internet (which you can tell by the extreme lack of ghosts you echo updates..), which was one of the best things i did, when you’re doing a project that needs your complete attention and dedication you have to not to be so distracted by social networking websites that are in my opinion, can be a complete waste of your time, its sad to realise that as a musician you have to be so obsessed with the internet in order to become successful, dont get me wrong as social networking can be an extremely powerful tool for bands & artists when they need to expand their fanbase, but if you dont have a manager or a team of people doing the constant updating for you its hard to really the see big deal of it and i feel you can loose heart on what’s really important - the actual music, the emotional spectrum & process of music
anyway, OAP RANT OVER, Ghosts You Echo are slowly but surely getting back in the swing of things, and there a few changes ::::::::::
1.) I have made the decision to carry on with the band as a 3 piece, me on guitar and lead vocals, Jonathan Chan on violin/loop pedals & backing vocals, Ryo Barkataki on drums, i swear i havent gone all cut throat business woman on y’all, but since its been a while for Ghosts You Echo, music styles & situations have changed dramatically during this time (for all of us), and i feel alot more excited about having more of a raw, stripped down set up to the band sound, it feels right at the moment
2.) we’ll be going in to the studio next week to work on new songs!!, yaaay, we are aiming to release them within the next month! :D
3.) the official video for “Erika” is coming soon, the post production on the promo has taken a long time due to lack of funds (recession and all that) but im happy to say its been moving along nicely/on its course and the wait has been extremely worthy, you have my word it will be released very soon…..
i think ive exhausted my blog time proper now, so thanks for reading all of this if you’ve made it this far!
peace love & hugs, stay tuned
